Kenya Kwanza and Azimio joint statement; Financial Bill decided.

The Kenya Kwanza and Azimio team have agreed on the way forward to solve there political differences.

In a joint statement signed by the Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi and Majority leader Kimani Ichungwah, the two political camps note that they reached the decision after observing the state of the nation.

“We, the leadership of AZIMIO LA UMOJA and KENYA KWANZA, having consulted on the state of our nation, DESIROUS of a democratic and peaceable resolution of issues that beset our nation, EXPRESSING our joint condemnation and regrets on the violence that has visited our nation with loss of life, serious injuries and the destruction of properties, DETERMINED to resolve our differences amicably for the benefit of all our people.

“Part of the statement reads.
The two political camps agreed to establish a committee of ten composed of 5 members each from Azimio La Umoja and Kenya Kwanza as follows:

  1. 4 members from outside parliament 2 from each side,
  2. The Leaders of Majority and Minority from the National Assembly,
  3. 4 additional Members of Parliament 2 from each side.
    The committee shall be seized with the following 5 issues:

a) Reconstitution of IEBC,
b) Implementation of 2/3 gender rule,
c) Entrenchment of Constituency Development Fund,
d) Establishment and the entrenchment of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition,
e) Embedment of the Office of Prime Cabinet Secretary.

The Kenya Kwanza and Azimio further, agreed that the finance bil is sub judice and should be decided in court.
IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING, we take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to this agreement and to the people of Kenya.”
