Why TSC can’t renew senior and Old interns.
The Teacher Service Commission has clarified on why it can’t renew the contracts of intern teachers.
In the latest update the commission is said to be at crossroads.
According to media reports, TSC can’t start the renewal process due to the pending case and cannot dismiss them due to the crisis that may accompany fresh recruitment.
The commission is now using some sub-counties to test whether renewal will be successful by inviting interns in the select sub-counties to forward their personal accident covers.
At the same time, it is good to note that the commission has not remitted NHIF fees for a good number of interns, leading to penalties as others remain uncovered.
