President William Somoe Ruto should increase Civil Servants salary by at least 10 percent, the Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has said.

Senator Olekina remarks comes after President Ruto said all Gov’t employees will be forced to part with 3% of their salaries for affordable housing plan.

According to Ruto’s statement at a church service, employers will be made, by law, to remit 3 % of their employees salary to housing project.

This has not sit well with some leaders who have asked president Ruto to reconsider his decisions.

“Instead of increasing civil servants including police salaries by at least 10% you are now planning to deduct 3% of their salaries to fund houses which politicians will own! From Capitalism to ‘political socialism’!” Ledama Olekina said.

Root Party running mate Justina Wamae reacted to Olekina’s remarks saying “On this one, I concur. To he much is given, much is expected. First he should show Kenyans what he has done with the ‘little’ he has. #inatuhusu”

The Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna noted: “The working class in this country need and deserve a break. There is such a thing as death by taxation! You can choose to milk one cow till it just tilts and tips and “stumbles to earth” as Eminem put it, or grow the herd and get a litre from each. The KK regime seems to prefer the former.”
