Gachagua and wife Pastor Dorcas take 18KM walk in Mt Kenya forest to “connect with nature”

The Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas took time to walk through the larger Mt Kenya Forest to connect with Mother Nature and appreciate God’s creation.

The 18KM journey reportedly took them through Hombe Forest in Mathira Constituency before getting into Kabaru Forest in Kieni Constituency.

Gachagua thanked the almighty God for the downpour tha is ongoing it the region. Along the way they met farmers where they exchanged pleasantries.

“We thank God for the rains as the greenery of our heritage is evident; the roaring sound from River Sagana was soothing to our souls. We met enthusiastic farmers and livestock herders who were thankful to the Lord for the rains.”

The local reportedly thanked the Ruto led government over fertilizer subsidies.

“They saluted the Kenya Kwanza Administration for availing subsidised fertiliser, but asked for more.” He said.

“Having been born and raised next to Mt Kenya Forest, I appreciate its importance as a water catchment and the urgent need of preserving our environment.”

He urged locals to preserve the forest and continue to support president William Samoe Ruto.

“I urge my neighbours to continue preserving this forest for own good and future generations. In this regard, we must all support H.E President @WilliamsRuto’s call to plant 15 billion trees by 2032 to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and attain food security.” Said Gachagua.

While walking in the forest he recalled his late mother and father who he said spend years in liberation struggle.

“My journey through the thick forest was very nostalgic; my late father and mother spent over 10 years in the same forest during the liberation struggle of driving away the white colonialists from our land.” Said Gachagua.

He added “I am challenged by the responsibility on my shoulders to help H.E President Ruto in the remaining and final liberation of our country -the economic liberation of our Nation. Again, I had time to interact and share with the residents of Kieni Constituency.”
