“This is to inform your office that I have resigned, effective immediately as a (Life) Member of the ODM Party of Kenya, being Membership Number 00230 Kindly effect this decision, by striking out my name from the Party’s Office Membership Register.” a letter from Jakakimba reads.
In the letter of appreciation, Jakakimba wrote:
“JAROM, It is close to two solid decades since our paths first crossed in 2004 as a young member in the then very vibrant Liberal Democratic Party’s Youth League.
That the commitment in the years-old service to and under you, and the undeniably very close nexus that blossomed to both comradeship of trust and a near-son relationship
nave seen me grow into what I am today in the leadership space, can neither be gainsaid nor ovestressed.
You gave me an opportunity to serve as your Parliamentary Personal Assistant (2007), Personal Assistant to The Prime Minister (Coalition Goverment and
since November 25th, 2015- as Advisor. Out of this relationship, I confess that know no other living human being on the African continent, that comes close to you as the First Among Equals on the quest for a freer and prosperous continent, outside Nelson R. Mandela.
And I am privileged to share in the rare pride that I have been there with you as you waved several challenges to see to an overhaul ot our then governance architecture into
a new constitutional dispensation that codilied Devolution at the very centre of our governance-a Lasting Legacy that remains to stand on your Name through to yonder
Generations. I have no doubts in my mind and do belleve that in this historical and monumental quest for a better Nation whose Devolution dividends Kenyans proudly
associate with, I have been a dependable, rellable, loyal and steadfast aide.
I am proundly honoured to thank you and express my indebtedness for the hands-on grounding I have acquired in the provinces of Democracy, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Good Governance and Leadership.
Even so, as it remains clear in my mind that I could possibly hold the candle to a natural Ally, Son and Mentee, I take this opportunity to inform that I have taken the liberty to formally take time off the Advisory Role at the Raila Odinga Secretariat effective immediately.
With so much Gratitude and Honour, Jakom, receive the assurances of my Highest Respect and Consideration and, Prayers for your continued Good Health and a Long Happy Life.”
