The guard of former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, Evans Okoda, died from severe brain injuries and significant blood loss – a surgical assessment has revealed.

Evans Okoda, 35, was found dead near his rented home in Oyugi town after a night out with friends at a nightclub on Thursday night.

When discovered, some of his fingers were severed along with his tongue. His face was also badly disfigured.

Surgery conducted at Rachuonyo County Hospital disclosed that his brain had been severely injured.

According to Dr. Tobias Ocholla’s report, the deceased’s injuries were caused by a sharp object.

Okoda was prominently involved in political events, especially during the 2022 gubernatorial elections, as a guard for Dr. Kidero.

The cause of his death remains undetermined.

Rachuonyo South Police Commander Lilies Wachira stated that investigations have revealed the deceased left home to engage in activities in Oyugis town before being spotted later in a bar.

He was last seen at a local bar.

Neighbors were shocked to see his body outside his house on Friday morning.

It is believed he may have been murdered while heavy rain was falling.

“Torrential rain was pouring that night, and no one heard any commotion during the attack,” Ms. Wachira said.

She noted they have initiated investigations into Okoda’s death.

“No one knows the cause of this death, and no one heard any disturbances at that time,” Ms. Wachira said.

The body was taken to the mortuary at Rachuonyo South County Hospital.
