The Director of Criminal Investigation DCI has finally broken it’s silence on why they arrested the Bunge La Mwananchi activist Calvin Otieno popularly know as Gaucho.
DCI says Gaucho was arrested for allegedly creating disturbance contrary to penal code.
He was presented to Kiambu Law Court on 30th May where he pleaded not guilty and was released on bail.
“Earlier today, Calvin Okoth Otieno alias “Gaucho” was arraigned before Kiambu law courts on charges of creating disturbance contrary to section 95 (1)(b) of the penal code.”
“The suspect pleaded not guilty and was released on a Sh20,000 bond or cash bail of Sh5,000.” A nightly DCI statement read.
Gaucho was arrested on 29th May 2023 outside City Hall by undercover police. The reason for his arrest was unclear and Azimio team reported that his whereabouts was kept unknown to even his lawyers.
