Former Mukurueni Mp Kabando Wakabando has rejected Ruto’s proposal add more tax to Kenyans.
In a statement, Kabando wrote: “We served in Jubilee but still rose to speak against myriads of regime excesses – NYS, Galana Kulalu, Anglo leasing, Executive interference with Legislature.
“Today, not a single UDA MP has found any fault with coerced 6% housing levy (tax). It’s an era of blind sycophancy, fear.
“If President Ruto wants to truly help mwananchi, he’d convert the proposed housing levy (tax) for UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE.
“Patients are dying daily in public hospitals for lack of proper medication. Families everywhere in stress over medical bills. The BEST SHELTER IS MEDICARE!Of employees already on loans & mortgages, 6% net levy is multiple taxation for no guaranteed return.
“Kenyans are for once unanimously: ‘NO MORE TAXES’! ‘NO COERCED levy’! We’re CoK2010 democracy inspired. 6% levy(tax) is just another BBI “penadol” fraud. UDA MPs voting machines.
“Ruto should not erode goodwill of non-UDA citizens who wish him well. He’s piling so many broken promises. Let him avoid bravado and UONGO. We recognise and support him as our LEGITIMATE PRESIDENT. But on more taxes, we reject, we oppose. NO! Let him place UHC now. Haki kwa Wote.
“Times like this, MPs cross ranks to promote and defend public interests, #bipartisan aisle. Any Kenya Kwanza MP who breaks ranks with the taxing brigade will emerge as a national hero, a patriot. Sadly, most of them are still stuck on the wheelbarrow. Who’ll bell this ‘tax cat’?
