Police in Kiambu yesterday, the 24th March 2023, together with KRA Officers, upon acting on intelligence reportedly seized counterfeit goods from a dwelling house situated at Magomano area within Githunguri Township.
In a twitter post, the National Policy Service says among those recovered were 11 Cartons of supermatch of 10, 000 pieces each affixed with counterfeit KRA stamps; 3 Cartons of supermatch of 5,000 pieces each affixed counterfeit KRA stamps; and 34 Bundles of supermatch of 20 pieces each affixed with counterfeit KRA stamps;
“There were also 75 Bundles of Supermatch of 20 pieces each branded for export; 320 Bundles of counterfeit KRA cigarette stickers of 400 pieces each; 5 Bundles of Pall Mall Safari cigarettes of 400 pieces each; 14 Bundles of Ralli cigarettes wrappers of 400 pieces each.” NPS said in a statement.
Others recovered, according to NPS were 18 Bundles of supermatch wrappers of 400 pieces each and 1000 pieces of Supermatch QR codes, among others.
One person who is said to be a suspect suspected to be involved in the business of counterfeit goods was arrested.
