The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has come forward to denounce a circulating document that falsely claims to be an official circular concerning the deployment of teachers for Junior Secondary Schools in 2025. The fake document, which has been widely shared, falsely instructs regional, county, and sub-county directors to submit names of teachers qualified for deployment to Junior Secondary Schools.
The fraudulent circular, dated 22nd July 2024, bears a counterfeit TSC letterhead and signature, claiming to be from the Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nancy Macharia. It urges school principals to submit the names of teachers who meet specific criteria, including those trained in subjects with staffing gaps and teachers with flexible teaching skills for different subjects.
TSC has warned the public and school administrators against acting on any information contained in the document, stressing that it is not an official communication. The Commission has also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and clarified that all official communication is disseminated through its recognized channels.
This hoax follows a series of similar forgeries that have emerged over the past few months, targeting various government bodies and misleading stakeholders in the education sector. As such, TSC urges vigilance and encourages anyone in doubt to verify information through the official TSC website or its official communication lines.
For accurate updates on teacher deployment and other education-related matters, educators and the public are advised to rely on credible sources of information to avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
