The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) threatened to take legal action to prevent President William Ruto from appointing 50 CASs leaders.
LSK Chairman Eric Theuri said the appointment of the 50 CAS goes against what the head of the civil service requested and received from the public service commission.
Speaking in Mombasa on Saturday, Theuri said the additional costs associated with CASs should be used to fight hunger and implement development projects
The LSK president said “What the President did is breaking the law. We will be in court on Monday…when we were in court PSC said they wanted to create 23 positions under the public participation and that was the maximum, we wonder why the President chose to nominate 50…this for us is politically motivated and not following the law,”
