Ukraine continues to face relentless aerial attacks from Russia, with daily air raid alerts ringing across the nation.
In a statement, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that just last night, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted nearly 50 strike drones. This marks a significant milestone in Ukraine’s defense efforts amidst a surge in hostile actions.
Over the past week, Russia has launched over 800 guided aerial bombs, approximately 460 strike drones, and more than 20 missiles targeting Ukrainian territories and civilians.
These attacks demonstrates Russia’s persistent attempts to destabilize the country, destroy its people, and instill fear among its population.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine’s sovereignty and condemned the use of the nation as a testing ground for weapons. “Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state,” he asserted, calling for global solidarity in countering these threats.
The Ukrainian leader also highlighted the urgent need for enhanced air defense systems, stating, “Strengthening the protection of our skies is absolutely critical.” Efforts to secure additional support from international partners are already underway, reflecting the pressing necessity to safeguard the nation’s skies.
Zelenskyy extended his gratitude to global allies who continue to stand with Ukraine during these challenging times, underscoring the importance of unity in combating aggression.
As the conflict intensifies, Ukraine’s resilience and the support of its partners remain pivotal in defending its sovereignty and protecting its citizens.
