A man has been arrested by DCI Kenya detectives after posting a viral TikTok video allegedly inciting violence against police officers and their families. The suspect, identified as Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, was traced to Kimathi House, Nairobi, where he ran a logistics business under the name LetaPeleka Logistics.
The DCI stated that the inflammatory TikTok videos sparked public outrage, prompting an immediate investigation. Detectives tracked down Maiyo, who is now in custody awaiting formal charges. Authorities have warned against using social media, including the TikTok app, to spread hate speech or incite violence.
This arrest comes amid heightened scrutiny over harmful content on social media platforms. The DCI headquarters has urged users to report similar posts, emphasizing that such actions threaten national security.
Maiyo is expected to be arraigned soon as investigations continue. The DCI Kenya has reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing individuals who misuse digital platforms to promote violence.
