Teachers Service Commission Calls for Expressions of Interest for Teachers’ Professional Development Programmes
Nairobi, Kenya – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of Kenya has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI) for the provision of Teachers Professional Development (TPD) training and related programmes for registered teachers in Kenya. This move is part of TSC’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education through continuous professional development of teachers.
The TSC aims to shortlist educational training institutions to provide consultancy services for TPD training. These institutions are expected to have the necessary qualifications and relevant experience to deliver high-quality training programmes. The initiative targets various regions across Kenya, including Nairobi, Western, Nyanza, Rift Valley, Eastern, Coast, North Eastern, and Central regions.
Interested educational institutions are invited to submit their bids either individually or as consortia. The TSC is keen on ensuring that these institutions meet the required standards and demonstrate their capability in offering effective training programmes that align with the commission’s objectives.
The Expression of Interest document, detailing the terms of reference and qualifications required, is available for download from the TSC website at www.tsc.go.ke or can be obtained from the Teachers Service Commission’s offices located at Upper Hill, Kilimanjaro Road, Nairobi. The document is accessible at the SCMS Division, 2nd Floor-Podium Wing, where potential bidders can seek further information from the Deputy Director (SCMS) via email at ddprocurement@tsc.go.ke.
To participate, institutions must submit a clearly marked Expression of Interest document labeled “Provision of Teacher Professional Development Training and Related Programmes for registered teachers in Kenya.” Submissions should be placed in the tender box provided at the TSC House, 3rd floor podium wing or addressed and posted to:
The Secretary/Chief Executive Officer Teachers Service Commission, Private Bag, 00100, Nairobi.
The deadline for submissions is 14th February 2024 at 10:00 am East Africa Time. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives who choose to attend. The TSC has emphasized that only successful bidders will be notified.
This initiative underscores TSC’s commitment to improving the educational standards in Kenya by ensuring that teachers are well-equipped with the latest teaching methodologies and skills. Continuous professional development is crucial in adapting to the dynamic educational environment and meeting the evolving needs of students.
By engaging qualified and experienced educational institutions, TSC aims to provide teachers with access to advanced training programmes that will enhance their professional growth and, ultimately, improve student outcomes. This effort aligns with the broader national goals of quality education and lifelong learning for all.
The TSC encourages all eligible institutions to participate in this significant initiative, which promises to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of education in Kenya. Through collaborative efforts, the commission hopes to foster a robust professional development framework that supports the growth and excellence of teachers nationwide.
