The Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has realised an emotional high voltage speech hours after being saved from impeachment.
The DG termed the move as, “the Journey to positive change and progress in Siaya County begins.”
In a press release dated June 27th 2023, Oduol snatched the opportunity to express his thankfulness to the almighty God.
“I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God, my legal team, the senate committee, my family, friends, and above all, the great Siaya people.” He said.
He says the journey has been challenging, but it has also been a tremendous learning experience for him. “I have come to realize that fighting corruption is an expensive affair.”
He says his resolve to fight corruption is driven by ideology and not personal gain.
“I want to assure the people of Siaya that my fight against corruption has always been driven by ideology, not personal gain. Together, with those who share the same goodwill and faith, we aim to make Siaya County great by eradicating corruption and creating a zone of integrity.” He said.
The DG further expressed a change of heart to work with the County boss, Hon James Orengo, the Siaya County Governor.
“I want to assure my boss, H. E. James Orengo, that I am ready and committed to working with him and the team we assembled to deliver on our
“It is Possible’ (Nyalore) manifesto.”
Oduol noted that moving forward, which he says is the most important thing for all members of the executive and assembly is to embrace unity of purpose. “We must work together to make devolution work for the people of Siaya County.”
The DG further called for reconciliation between him and the Gov’ Orengo.
“I welcome and appreciate all efforts that will be made by the ODM party, respected elders, MCAs, professionals, and Siaya residents to facilitate reconciliation between the Governor and myself. Let us join forces to bring about positive change ancd progress.”
Oduol called in his supporter to celebrate his win from impeachment.
“I call upon all my supporters to celebrate this victory with decorum, as this win is not mine alone but a win for the people of Siaya.”
He thanked the locals for their support during his tribulations.
“Thank you for your unwavering support. May God bless Siaya County.”
