Police Nab Looters, Recover Stolen AK-47 in Kenya Protests Crackdown

EMBU, Kenya – In a major breakthrough, DCI Kenya officers have arrested six suspects linked to the looting and destruction of property during the violent Kenya protests on June 25, 2025. The suspects are set to be arraigned at the Embu Law Courts on Monday, June 30.

Stolen Police Rifle Recovered in Dramatic Raid

In a separate operation, Kenya police officers from Kabete Police Station recovered an AK-47 rifle stolen from Dagoretti Police Post during the protest Kenya violence.

Acting on a tip-off, officers raided Gravity Bar in Gahui after reports of a suspicious man with a bulging bag. Forensic evidence led them to the suspect’s home in Njuki-Kirigu, where they found:

  • An empty magazine
  • A single round of 7.62mm special ammunition

The suspect, however, escaped before arrest, prompting a nationwide manhunt.
