The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a crucial directive to all schools regarding the administration of 2025 projects and performance tasks. This directive, which affects learners in Grades 3, 7, 8, and those under the stage-based pathway and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), was communicated through an official poster published on Monday.
According to KNEC, the projects and tasks have already been uploaded to the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal at https://cba.knec.ac.ke. Schools are now required to download these tasks, administer them, and upload the learners’ scores within strict deadlines.
For Grades 3, 7, 8, and stage-based pathway learners, the deadline for score submission is 31st July 2025. Meanwhile, schools handling KJSEA candidates must ensure all project scores are uploaded by 30th August 2025.
Failure to meet the KJSEA deadline will attract a stiff penalty of Ksh 500 per learner, KNEC warned. This move is seen as part of a broader strategy to enforce compliance and timely data entry by educational institutions ahead of national assessments.
Teachers, school heads, and parents are now urged to ensure that learners complete their projects early to avoid the hefty fines. Stay updated with KNEC news to avoid last-minute rushes and penalties.
