KMPDC Fires Two Top Officials in Shake-Up

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has publicly severed ties with two of its officials, Mr. Kelvin Murimi Wachira and Mr. Peter Wauna Otieno, in a stark notice disowning their authority. The regulatory body has explicitly warned the public and all stakeholders that the two men are no longer in its employ.

In a decisive move, the Council’s notice states that Wachira and Otieno are “no longer authorized to represent, act for or transact for and on behalf of the Council in any capacity.” This blanket disavowal aims to prevent any unauthorized actions or potential misrepresentation by the former employees. The KMPDC has moved to tightly control its official engagements, clarifying that such functions are now “undertaken exclusively by persons authorized by the Council.”

While the public notice did not disclose the reasons behind the abrupt termination of their employment, the decision to publish their photographs and names suggests the Council is taking proactive steps to mitigate any potential risk or confusion within the medical and dental sectors. Such public disclaimers are often issued to prevent fraud or unauthorized dealings that could undermine the institution’s integrity.
