The Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has defended the Kenya Kwanza Gov’t on appointment of Kalenjins in most of Gov’t position.
Cheruiyot was reacting to former presidential contestant Ekuru Aukot remarks on parastnals and private sector appointment by Kenyan Kwanza Gov’t.
In a long twitter post, Ekuru had written that the offensive, biased, and unconstitutional appointments of Kalenjins only to all state, parastatal, and even private offices is deeply distressing to many highly educated non-kalenjin Kenyans.
“As they see, their Kalenjin peers enjoy unlimited access to contracts and lucrative deals, which they use to flaunt their quickly acquired wealth ostentatiously. The deep sense of grievience is noticeable everywhere.”
“What @WilliamsRuto is doing is so damaging to so many young non-kalenjins it will last with for the rest of their lives. Tribalism is being deliberately asserted so grossly that it is obscene in the extreme. It is toxic and destructive.” Said Ekuru Aukot.
Ekuru went further to enumerate numbers of Kalenjins that have been appointed by the Gov’t.
Ekuru Aukot’s action angered Cheruiyot who reacted by pointing out when they were fired by former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s Gov’t under Jubilee.
Cheruiyot went further and branded Ekuru Aukot, a fraud who never resurfaced to defend them when they were being dropped like hot potatoes in previous regime.
“You are such a fraud. Where was all this wokeness when we were being fired like flies by the last admin ? You are perpetuating very cheap propaganda to score cheap political points.”
One social media user questioned: “When you were being fired? So this is revenge? You are not denying that there is an inordinate appointment of Kalenjins.The last time Kalenjins dominated public office everything collapsed, the economy, paratastals and state agencies.”
