Joint Statement by U.S, UK, Ireland, Germany, France and EU Delegation on Sierra Leone election.

The EU delegation, US, Ireland, German and France have realised a joint statement on the Sierra Leone election.

In a press release dated 28 June 2023 Wednesday, they applaud the Sierra Leonean people for their participation in the June 24th, 2023, general elections.

“We commend the commitment and dedication displayed by the citizens of Sierra Leone in exercising their democratie right to vote and engaging in the electoral process.” The statement seen by K47 digital news team read.

The delegations noted that significant logistical problems hampered voting on election day in certain areas.

“We share the concerns of national and international observation missions about the lack of transparency in the tabulation process.”

The delegation says it’s committed to supporting democracy and aspirations of Sierra Leone people

“Despite these difficulties, we remain committed to supporting democracy and the aspirations of the Sierra Leonean people.
