Equity Bank Warns Customers of Scheduled Service Downtime: Here’s What You Need to Know

Equity Bank customers are being urged to prepare for temporary service interruptions as the institution conducts planned system maintenance affecting multiple digital and card-based services. In a notice issued to its users, the bank confirmed that several key platforms will be unavailable at specific hours between Sunday and Monday.

According to the communication, the Equity Mobile App & Online, Equity Online for Business (formerly EazzyBiz), the *247# USSD service, EVA chatbot, Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), ATMs, card services, and Equitel services will all be inaccessible during the maintenance period.

The first shutdown is scheduled for Sunday, 30th November 2025, from 4:00am to 7:00am, followed by another session on Monday, 1st December 2025, from 2:00am to 4:00am.

Equity Bank emphasized that these upgrades are essential to improving system performance, enhancing customer experience, and strengthening service reliability. The institution apologized to customers for any inconvenience caused, urging them to plan ahead—especially those who rely on digital banking for early morning transactions.

The temporary suspension is expected to impact millions of users across Kenya and the region, considering Equity’s position as one of the largest financial institutions in East Africa. Customers are advised to complete urgent transactions before the maintenance windows to avoid disruptions.
