Health Cabinet Secretary Ms. Nakhumicha S. Wafula, speaking through Dr. Bashir Isaak, Head of Directorate Family Health at the Ministry of Health, emphasized the importance of the new curriculum in strengthening the capacity of healthcare providers to manage hemophilia and allied bleeding disorders effectively. Despite the prevalence of hemophilia in Kenya, only a fraction of those affected have been identified and are receiving treatment, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.
