The Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Defense CS Aden Duale says the commitment of the Government of Kenya to fostering regional peace and stability is to achieve economic growth is unquestionable.
Speaking in Kampala, Uganda today the 26th April 2023, during the ongoing Extra Ordinary Summit for Defence Ministers from the Troops Contributing Countries (TCC) of Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Burundi, Djibouti and Somalia, Duale reassured the representatives of the international and regional communities that they have the backing and support of Kenya in joining forces to resolve conflicts arising in the region through dialogue or military operations.
Furthermore, Duale commended Kenya troops, under the African Union Trasition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), for the work they did in neutralizing the Al-Shabaab militia, a terror group linked to the Al-Queda.
The Summit reportedly offers a platform for the region to develop collective goals and objectives for maintaining peace and security.
Also present were representatives from the African Union (AU), United Nations (UN), IGAD, US, UK and the EU.
