Vice President Rigati Gachagua lost his Twitter confirmation blue badge.
Gachagua, who has over 500,000 followers on Twitter, lost his Blue Check Mark today Day on Sunday.
Blue tick badges are mostly seen on high-ranking government officials, journalists, or community leaders.
He is the first public servant in Kenya to lose the recognition badge due to changes on the largest social media platform.
Twitter had announced that it will begin removing the old blue badge from April 1, 2023.
This follows the Twitter CEO Elon Musk announcement last year that users will now pay a monthly fee on Twitter Blue to earn badges (blue ticks).
