The Director Of criminal investigation has been forced to swallow its pride and apologized to the public over fake news on Azimio demo that was shared on its twitter handle.
The DCI says it “unreservedly apologize” to the public for “the mix-up of images” in yesterday’s communication, which was reportedly meant to appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of criminal suspects that were involved in Azimio’s Monday “illigal” demonstration.
DCI has shifted the blame on “overwhelming” information received via “fichua Kwa DCI”
“The mix-up was partly occasioned by the overwhelming information that we had received via the #FichuakwaDCI online platform regarding the reported incidents of violence.” DCI statement reads in part.
It adds “While we work towards rectifying the same and maintaining public confidence inour operations, the Directorate continues to appeal to the public for information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects whose images appear below.”
