The Central Organisation of Trade Union COTU Boss Francis Atwoli has announced the death of COTU chairman General Bro Rajabu Mwondi.
“It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that I announce the death of our beloved Chairman General Bro. Rajabu Mwondi who has guided and led us for more than two decades.
“His legacy will forever remain a beacon of inspiration and dedication to the cause of workers’ rights and welfare.” Atwoli said in a statement.
Atwoli described Mwondi as someone who displayed unwavering commitment to the advancement of the labour movement, advocating tirelessly for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the overall well-being of our members during his tenure in office.
“His leadership transcended the boundaries of time, leaving an indelible mark on COTU (K) history.”
“His wisdom, compassion, and tireless efforts have transformed the lives of countless workers, elevating our organization to new heights.
“We will forever remember his tenacity in the face of challenges, his humility in the face of success, and his ability to unite us all under a common purpose.”
“As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. Let us continue to honour his memory by carrying forward the torch of his passion and dedication.”
Atwoli described the void left by his passing saying it will undoubtedly be felt deeply, “but we are fortified by the values he instilled in us and the example he set.”
“In this time of grief, let us stand united as a family, offering our deepest condolences to his loved ones. May they find strength in the knowledge that his contributions have touched so many lives and will continue to inspire generations to come.
