President William Samoe Ruto has said three percent of one’s salary will be reverted to affordable housing project.
Ruto spoke this at a church function at Friends Church (Quakers) in Donholm, Nairobi County
The first in command said that every Kenyan will be able to contribute 3 per cent of their salary towards affordable housing.
According to Ruto for every 3 per cent someone saves, the employer will be required by law to save an extra 3 per cent.
“kama Mshahara Wako no elfu ishirini, unaweka 3%. Na Tunasema Kila Mfanyikazi ambaye anaweka 3%, sherehe italazimisha Mfanyikazi wake pia awake 3%.
Ruto noted that all the over 700K employees who saves 3% of his salary for housing, the Gov’t will give him/she 3% of his salary.
This, according to Ruto will create a fund for people of Kenya to acquire a home.
