NPS caution on fake social media accounts.

The National Police Service NPS has issued a warning on fake accounts purporting to belong to Dr. Resila Atieno Onyango who is the NPS spokesperson.

“Disclaimer…!!!🚨 We wish to caution the general public against interacting with the multiple fake accounts purporting to belong to the National Police Service Spokesperson, Dr. Resila Atieno Onyango, PhD, HSC.” A statement seen by the K47 digital news team read.

NPS termed the account owners as “unscrupulous imposters” with the intention to defraud gullible Kenyans.

“The existing accounts are maintained by unscrupulous imposters with criminal intent to defraud unsuspecting persons.Kindly report these links.”

NPS further noted that the fake accounts go against Facebook Community Standards.

“Please note that NPS Spokesperson does not operate any social media account and only transacts her official duties through NPS official communications platforms.”
