A team of National Police Service officers seized uncustomed repackaging sugar in Kisii County on Sunday Evening.
“Yesterday, the 21/05/2023, a team of NPS Officers from KPS and DCI Kenyenya and Magena raided a home of one Tonogo and siezed fourteen 50 Kgs bags, two 25 Kg bags of sugar, branded as either Kagera Sugar Company, Diamond Sugar, Sony Sugar, Lugazi and Mara Sugar Company.” NPS says.
One woman by the name Kemunto was arrested in the process.
A number of labelled Mara Sugar was also impounded.
“In addition were 230 kgs of Sugar, a number of empty polythene packets labelled Mara Sugar suspected to be used for packaging and 3 bales of banned polythene paper. One female suspect Kemunto was arrested.”
