Four days a go, a Kabarak University Facebook page was hacked by unknown individuals.
In a statement shared by VC Henry Kiplagat, confirmed the raiding of University page.
“Our official Facebook page, ‘Kabarak University’, has been compromised by a group of cybercriminals.”
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.” Said the VC Henry Kiplagat.
The hacker has been threatening porn videos on the page.
The Kabarak University page has since gained over 20k followers in less than 10 days due to the nature of content being shared on the platform.
Kenyans have taken advantage of the situation to created over 10 pages with a similar name to gain followers, some have even changed their page names for the same reason.
According to IT experts, the hacker usually sends a lucrative offer and if one is dubed into it, the account goes.
“Hello we would like to pay you for placing our contents on your page.! We pay you per week $7000 Our brands are Nestle, Nike, Puma and Nissan,let me know if you are interested?.” The offer may reads.
Hacker has posted president Ruto’s photos with a ‘funny’ caption that has got Kenyans laughing.
Recently the hacker demanded $500 in order to give up the page.
