Butere Boys’ High School in Kakamega County was closed indefinitely after 100 students developed cholera-like symptoms.
Students with symptoms of cholera, such as vomiting, were hospitalized.
This follows a day after students from Sacred Mukumu Girls’ High School in the same county were reportedly sent home indefinitely after two died while 500 others were hospitalized following a diarrhea outbreak as a result of contaminated food and water.
A video shared online shows students leaving Butere Boys’ High with their belongings.
A statement by the school concerning the incident has not been seen yet.
