Protesters pelt stones to police blocking them to access CBD.

In Mathare, people had reportedly gathered in groups to head to the Nairobi CBD for maandamano called by the Azimio La Umoja boss Raila Amolo Odinga.

However, the police couldn’t allow them and start lodging teargas at the crowd in an attempt to disperse the crowd.

The crowd became angry and started pelting stones at the police. It was a running battle between teargas from police vs stones from demonstrators.

The NTV journalist, Brian Obuya, who was covering the events was forced to take cover as protesters pelt stones to police officers blocking their way to Nairobi CBD.

Elsewhere in Kibra a Citizen TV journalists attacked, robbed by knife-wielding gangbas they covered the Monday protests. Vehicle repordly damaged.
