EPRA says it has announced the new fuel price in accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, which has led the Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) to calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products which will be in force from 15h March 2023 to
14th April 2023.
In the period under review, EPRA details the maximum allowed petroleum pump price of Super Petrol will be increased by Ksh. 2.00 per litre while that of Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged.
The prices, according to EPRA, are inclusive of the 8% Value Added Tax (VAT) which is in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2020 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020, passed by the Uhuru’s regime during that handshake period.
“The average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 0.06% from US$659.87 per cubic metre in January 2023 to USS659.47 per cubic metre in February 2023; Diesel decreased by 2.52% from USS779.49 per cubic metre to USS759.88 per cubic metre while Kerosene decreased by 1.51% from US$774.99 per cubic metre to US763.28 per cubic metre.” a statement from EPRA says
