The Nandi senator Aaron Cheruiyot has stirred reactions amongst media industries in his recent onlaughter on media.
In what NTV describes as “suppressing The Media” in reincarnation of one part dictatorship spirits, media say, Senator wants President Ruto to “crush” the media.
“If crushing things is a government policy, then there is surely no shortage of things to crush – the high cost of living, runaway fuel prices, the price of unga…” NTV commented on Cheruiyot remarks.
The remarks by NTV came into play hours after Senator Aaron Cheruiyot express his wish that media and banks should be crushed Crushed by Ruto’s administration.

Kenya Editors Guild has condemns attack on media saying the utterances are an open threat to media.

The move by the Nandi senator to train his gun on media has stirred mixed reactions as other fears the Kenya Kwanza administration is after media suppression.
“Our message to the Kenya Kwanza administration that has more than once expressed its disdain for the media with the latest being what we see as a direct threat by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.” said Oliver Mathenge, the editor at multimedia.
