Kitale, June 5, 2024 – In light of the recent adjustments in term dates and to address several key logistical issues, the State Department for Basic Education in Trans-Nzoia County has announced a revised schedule for co-curricular activities for Term II. This announcement, made by the County Director of Education, Pamela Akello, outlines the new dates for various events, ensuring smooth coordination across the county’s educational institutions.

The revised schedule covers both primary and secondary school activities, specifically focusing on music and ball games. The details are as follows:

Music (Primary and Secondary)

Venue: Kitale School
Dates: June 24th – 25th, 2024
Ball Games (Primary)

Venue: Kitale School
Dates: July 5th – 6th, 2024
Ball Games (Secondary)

Venue: Trans-Nzoia West
Dates: July 11th – 12th, 2024


The County Director has instructed all principals and heads of institutions to ensure that they are well-prepared for these events and to communicate the new dates to all relevant stakeholders. Additionally, specific venues and dates for sub-county events will be determined by the respective Sub-County Directors of Education in collaboration with activity committees.

Pamela Akello emphasized the importance of these events in fostering a holistic education for students, stating, “Co-curricular activities are crucial for the all-rounded development of our students. They provide a platform for talent development and physical well-being, which are essential components of our education system.”

All schools are expected to adhere to the new schedule and ensure that their students are adequately prepared to participate in these activities. The changes come into effect immediately, with the first set of activities commencing on June 24th, 2024.
