Mumias East MP Peter Salasia has set the record straight on after he was captured slapping the area MCA.
In a video footage shared by local media outlets, the controversial MP could be seen slapping the Kagamega MCA Peter Walunya at a burial in Mumias.
The MP was arrested and later released on a KES 50,000 cash bail.
However, the MP has come out to distance self from the assault claims.
In a statement via X formally Twitter, the MP says he didn’t slap anyone.
He accuses the MCA of bringing his cheeks where his hand was swinging and the face produced a sharp sound.
“I Peter Salasya wants to categorically state that I didn’t slap anyone.
“The MCA is the one who brought his cheek where my swinging hand was.
“The contact between my hand & his cheeks is said to have produced a sharp sound. I don’t remember assaulting anyone. Treat it as propaganda.” The MP said in a statement.
