6 Pakistanis, 1 Iranian who have been in custody since 2014 jailed for life by Mombasa court.

In March this year, according to DCI reports, seven convicts were jailed for life after being found guilty of trafficking heroin worth Sh1.3 Billion.

The seven sailors, 6 Pakistanis and one Iranian who had been in custody since 2014 were also fined Sh3.9 billion, thrice the value of the heroin that they trafficked and in default to paying the fine, to serve one year behind bars.

The ruling was delivered by Mombasa Chief Magistrate Hon Martha Mutuku, on March 10 2023, 9 years after the arrest of the convicts whose ship was found sailing in the Kenyan territorial waters along the Indian Ocean.

This well packaged case investigated by the DCI anti Narcotics Unit, is a perfect example that the wheels of justice may turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine.
