Nairobi, Kenya, July 9, 2024 – The National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) has announced the outcome of the tender for the provision of an ERP system upgrade and human capital transformation platform. In a letter addressed to participants, NITA regretfully informed the unsuccessful bidders of the decision.
The tender, identified as NITA/06/2023-2024, had attracted considerable interest. However, following a rigorous technical evaluation, many participants did not meet the required 80% mark. As per the official communication, this was the decisive factor in the selection process.
The letter, signed by the Acting Director General, Ms. Theresa K. Wasike, stated:
“This is to notify you that the offer in relation to the above named tender has been determined to be unsuccessful upon technical evaluation because you did not manage to attain the required 80% marks.”
The successful bidder, identified as M/s Tospay Limited, has been awarded the tender at a total cost of Ksh. 1,619,755,000. The contract, valued at over 1.6 billion Kenyan shillings, signifies a major investment by NITA into upgrading its ERP systems and transforming its human capital management.
The selection of Tospay Limited highlights the competitive nature of the tendering process and the high standards required by NITA. The evaluation process ensures that only the most qualified and technically capable firms are awarded such significant contracts. This is in line with NITA’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in its operations through state-of-the-art technological solutions.
Unsuccessful bidders received their unopened financial proposals along with the notification letter. NITA expressed gratitude to all participants for their interest and encouraged them to participate in future tenders. The letter concluded with:
“We take this earliest opportunity to thank you for your interest in our tenders and wish you all the best in our future tenders.”
The decision to reject bids based on technical evaluation underscores the importance NITA places on the quality and capability of the systems and solutions it implements. As an organization focused on industrial training, ensuring that its technological infrastructure is robust and capable is paramount.
The awarded project is expected to significantly enhance NITA’s operational capabilities. By upgrading its ERP system and transforming its human capital management, NITA aims to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency. This will not only benefit the organization internally but also improve service delivery to its stakeholders.
NITA’s move is part of a broader trend within public sector organizations in Kenya, where there is an increasing focus on leveraging technology to drive efficiency and improve service delivery. The significant investment in this project reflects the critical role that technology plays in modernizing public sector operations.
The announcement of the tender outcome is a significant step forward in NITA’s ongoing efforts to enhance its technological infrastructure. As the project progresses, it will be closely watched by stakeholders, including other public sector entities, to understand the impacts and benefits of such a substantial investment in technology.
