President Ruto’s Gov’t has outlined a clear roadmap on how to end bandits in rift valley region.
According to the reports shared by @CPC_Kenya, the government has embraced whole society approach in the fight against banditry.
It details that ending banditry requires both security measures & development interventions to open up North Rift and other regions affected by the vice.
Here the 7 point plan for the same;
- Enhanced Multi-Agency security operation
in banditry-prone areas in the North Rift. - Modernising and equiping the security
forces. - Engaging neighbouring countries to curb
cross-border crime. - Setting up permanent security installations in the volatile areas.
- Tightening security laws to harshly punish criminals.
- Rein in politicians funding or abetting bandi
- Develop the North Rift region.
