President William Ruto, and the First Lady, Rachel Ruto, hosted a breakfast meeting for spouses of members of the National Assembly today Friday morning the 31st of March 2023 at State House, Nairobi.
The agenda of the meeting, according to reports gathered was to explore areas of partnership between @MamaDoingGood, an initiative of the First Lady, & the spouses as they support their respective Members of Parliament & deliver to their constituents.
President Ruto reportedly expressed his commitment to work with every member of parliament for the benefit of the wananchi. Further, the president urged the spouses to support their members of parliament by taking up initiatives geared toward greening Kenya.
“Greening Kenya is a collective effort; it is not so much a president’s initiative. We all need to be committed to reversing the effects of climate change,” Said Ruto.

As a champion of climate action, the First Lady, reports says, urged the spouses to adopt a forest in their constituencies to support the national governments’ target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.
