Detectives from DCI Dandora have arrested two suspects linked to a horrific robbery and gang rape in Malaa. The victim was ambushed after her car got stuck—read how forensic evidence led to their capture!

Horrific Attack on Ruai-Kangundo Road

On the night of March 11, 2025, a woman driving home to Malaa along Ruai-Kangundo Road encountered every motorist’s nightmare—her car skidded off the road and got stuck in the mud. As she struggled to free her vehicle, two men, Ben Waimari and Moses Odhiambo (alias Pascal), along with five other accomplices, approached her under the guise of offering help.

Instead of assisting her, they forced her into the boot of her own car, took control of the vehicle, and drove off. What followed was a night of terror as the gang drove through Mowlem before stopping near Nairobi River at Kwa Mbao in Dandora. There, they dragged her out and took turns raping her.

Miraculous Rescue by a Good Samaritan

Just when it seemed the ordeal would never end, a passing motorist heard the victim’s cries and intervened. Fearing capture, the suspects abandoned her and fled in her car. The Good Samaritan rushed her to the hospital, where she received emergency treatment before reporting the incident at Kwa Mbao Police Post.

The victim not only suffered physical and psychological trauma but also lost household items, cash, and money drained from her accounts. Her vehicle was also stolen, leaving her with nothing but the scars of that brutal night.

How DCI Tracked Down the Suspects

The DCI Dandora team, working with the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, launched a manhunt. Using forensic evidence and witness accounts, detectives traced the suspects back to the crime scene.

Under intense interrogation, Ben Waimari and Moses Odhiambo confessed and led detectives to Maringo, Buruburu, where the stolen car was recovered—vandalized and stripped of its wheels. Other stolen items were also retrieved, strengthening the case against them.

Suspects in Custody, Hunt for 5 Others Ongoing

While the two suspects are now in custody, five more accomplices remain at large. The DCI has assured the public that they are closing in on the remaining gang members.
