The Uasin Gishu County Senator Jackson Mandago has recommended a statement on what he knows about the Finland and Canada scholarship saga.

Mandago, who was the Uasin Gishu Governor at the time parents were allegedly swindled money to a tune of 300M is among the top leaders in the mix.

Some parents, who are poor, reportedly sold their ancestral lands and paid the money with hope that their children will uplift them from poverty after a successful completion of studies abroad.

Today, the 10th of August 2023, the senator has reportedly recorded a statement at DCI Kiambu Road over the same.

“I have today recorded my statement at the @DCI_Kenya (Kiambu Road) on the Finland and Canada overseas education program.” Said Mandago in a statement on his Twitter post.

One of the social media told Mandago that “the best statement is refunding the people you defrauded.”

Other Kenyans hold the views that instead of recording statements at the DCI which maybe false, the senator should refund the parents and students their money instead of taking them round the corner.
