Transport along Nairobi- Embu – Meru highway has been paralyzed at Chuka Town as bodaboda operators protest murder of their leader Willis Mugambi.
Chuka residents took to the streets to demand the arrest and prosecution of a police officer who shot dead Willis Mugambi, the Tharaka Nithi Bodaboda Chairman, Mugambi.
Demonstrators promised to protest daily until the police officer who murdered their Chairman is brought to book.
Last week, as members of the public in Chuka Town Tharaka Nithi County were demonstrating, police used live bullets to disperse crowds that had barricaded the main Meru -Nairobi highway.
Mugambi, who was among the protestors against the killing of one person by known people believed to be moving freely because of their financial status, was shot dead, and as he reportedly tried to mediate between the boda boda persons and the police.
