7 foreigners slapped life imprisonment & Ksh 3.96B fine in Mombasa.

It is a big win Against Transnational Organised Crime (TOC) as seven foreigners are reportedly sentenced to life imprisonment in Mombasa for trafficking in Ksh 1.3 billion of heroin.

Each was also fined Ksh 3.96 billion, which, if default, will serve one year in jail according to Chief Magistrate Hon. Martha Mutuku who fined them three times the value of the heroin.

The Office Of Public Prosecution say the prosecution led by SADPP, Alexander Muteti, with SPC, Peris Bosibori, who proved the case beyond reasonable doubt after presenting 34 witnesses in the trial.

In her decision, Hon. Mutuku said that she considered: “the great impact of the heroin to the country, moreso, the devasting effect on the youth; the quantity and value of the heroin; and the transnational nature of the crime.

The convicts were six Pakistanis & one Iranian namely Mohamed Saleh, Yakoob Ibrahim, Saleem Muhammad, Bhatti Abdulghafour, Baksh Moula and Pak Abdolghaffer. Court heard that they deliberately engaged in the criminal conduct, hence, endangering future generations.
