The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially reopened its application portal, giving thousands of 2025 Form Four leavers another opportunity to revise their university and college choices or submit fresh applications.
According to the latest update released by KUCCPS, the application and revision window will run from May 16 to May 22, 2026. The move is expected to benefit students who may have missed the initial application phase or those wishing to change their selected programmes and institutions.
In the announcement, KUCCPS confirmed that the system is open for revision of university choices as well as applications to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and Kenya Utalii College programmes.
Students have been advised to log into the KUCCPS student portal through the official platform to make the necessary changes before the deadline expires.
The second application window comes at a critical time when many candidates are still weighing their career options after the release of placement updates. Education stakeholders say the revision exercise gives students a valuable chance to align their courses with their grades, career goals, and institution preferences.
KUCCPS also clarified that students who have already secured provisional placement do not need to reapply. This means applicants who successfully received placement offers during the first application cycle can retain their slots unless they choose to revise their selections.
The reopening of the portal is expected to attract massive traffic as learners rush to secure spaces in competitive courses such as medicine, nursing, engineering, education, ICT, and business-related programmes. TVET institutions are also expected to receive increased interest due to the growing demand for technical skills and government support for vocational training.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to guide students carefully during the revision process to avoid errors that could affect placement outcomes. Education experts also recommend that applicants review programme requirements and cluster points before submitting their final choices.
KUCCPS has repeatedly urged applicants not to wait until the last minute, warning that heavy traffic near the deadline could slow down the system.
The placement body continues to play a major role in coordinating admissions to universities and tertiary institutions across Kenya, ensuring qualified students are matched with suitable programmes.
Students can access the KUCCPS portal through students.kuccps.ac.ke and complete their revisions before May 22, 2026.
