A grisly road accident near Mountain View, Kipkorgot along the busy Eldoret-Kaptagat-Ravine road has left several injured and livestock dead, following a head-on collision between a public service vehicle (matatu) and an Isuzu lorry.
The incident occurred early Thursday morning, when the matatu, belonging to the Ravine Elgeyo Sacco, rammed into the rear of a stationary lorry, reportedly ferrying goods. The force of the impact crushed the front section of the matatu, causing immediate panic among onlookers and passengers.
At least two dairy cows were killed on the spot, with their bodies strewn across the road and roadside. Buckets and other farm produce were also scattered, indicating the animals were possibly being transported from a local farm.
