Two Women Nabbed, Firearm Seized in Dramatic Breakup Warning

Detectives from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) in Nyanza Region, working alongside DCI Nyando, have arrested two women and recovered a Canik pistol after one of them posted a threatening WhatsApp status aimed at men who might dare to break her heart.

The suspects, identified as Sharon Auma and Nancy Atieno Obura, were taken into custody following a swift operation in Awasi town. The arrest came after Sharon allegedly posted a photo of herself brandishing a pistol with a chilling caption warning men of dire consequences if they ever dumped her.

How the Dramatic Arrest Unfolded

According to police reports, Sharon’s bold social media post caught the attention of law enforcement, prompting an immediate investigation. Hawk-eyed detectives tracked her down and arrested her in Awasi. Upon interrogation, she led officers to her friend Nancy’s rented two-bedroom house, where the firearm was discovered.

A thorough search of the premises revealed the Canik pistol hidden under a bed, wrapped in clothes and stashed inside a basin. The gun was found with an empty magazine, raising questions about whether it had been recently used or was merely for show.

Police have warned the public against flaunting illegal firearms online, emphasizing that such actions attract swift legal consequences.
