In a significant shakeup of key national leadership positions, President William Ruto has nominated prominent figures to take on influential roles across various government boards. Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chair Isaack Hassan has been nominated to serve as the Chairperson of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) Board. This move places a trusted figure with extensive experience in oversight and governance in charge of a critical institution tasked with ensuring accountability within Kenya’s police force.
In addition, President Ruto has nominated former Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua, popularly known as “Jaguar,” to join the Board of the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ). This appointment brings Jaguar’s background in public service and advocacy into the CAJ, which works to ensure fairness and justice in administrative decisions affecting Kenyan citizens.
Former Isiolo Woman Representative Rehema Jaldesa has also been tapped for a vital leadership role, with her nomination as Chairperson of the National Gender and Equality Commission.
