Suspect Arrested After Fatal High School Shooting Leaves Four Dead, Including Two Teachers

In a devastating incident at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, four people were confirmed dead following a shooting that took place on September 4, 2024. The victims included two high school teachers and two students. The suspect, identified as 14-year-old Colt Grey, has been arrested and will face multiple murder charges.

The shooting left nine others injured, heightening the impact of the tragedy. Authorities confirmed that Grey used an AR-platform-style weapon during the attack. The victims were identified as teachers Christina Irimie, 53, and Aspinwall, 39, along with students Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn, both 14 years old​(WOSU)​(Daily Jang).

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation reported that Grey had a history of online threats, which were flagged by the FBI as early as May 2023. However, law enforcement at the time found no probable cause to take action, as Grey denied the threats, and his family asserted that he did not have unsupervised access to firearms.
