In a shocking revelation, Maverick Aoko, a controversial former journalist and blogger, has leveled serious allegations against the government, claiming a pattern of targeted harm towards independent writers.

Aoko specifically references the mysterious disappearance of blogger Bogonko Bosire, linking it to a supposed meeting at State House.

Aoko expresses gratitude for being removed from what is described as a perilous environment, emphasizing that what may have seemed like personal setbacks were, in fact, divine interventions safeguarding individuals from potential harm.

The blogger hints at underlying tensions and intrigue within the government, suggesting a climate of discord that extends beyond public scrutiny.

The phrase “Ile fitina iko huko” (the animosity that exists there) implies a deeper layer of internal conflict.

The gravity of these allegations raises concerns about press freedom and the safety of independent voices.

As the public awaits further details, questions loom about the circumstances surrounding Bosire’s disappearance and the broader implications for freedom of expression in the country.

The government, as of now, has strongly denounced the killing of Peris Mugera, a blogger from Tharaka Nithi, whose lifeless body was discovered in Kirinyaga County.

Government spokesperson Isaac Mwaura emphasized the importance of upholding diverse opinions expressed on alternative media platforms.

Mugera, a 40-year-old entrepreneur and mother of two, was reported to be in good health when she left her residence in Chuka town, Tharaka Nithi County, last Thursday. Despite assuring her daughters that she would return in the evening after meeting a friend and going to another workplace, tragedy unfolded.

In her final Facebook post on February 25, Mugera sought assistance for her health, unaware that it would be her last plea. Tharaka Nithi County Commissioner Wesley Koech revealed that Mugera’s body was discovered along the Makutano-Sagana road in Kirinyaga County on Monday, sparking an immediate investigation.

Identified by relatives and friends on Friday after her photo circulated on social media, Mugera is believed to have been murdered between leaving home and the morning her body was found. The Chuka Police Station received a missing person report on March 1, leading to a thorough investigation.

Mugera’s last mobile activity was recorded on Friday evening in Kathoge, Kirinyaga, and her phone has remained inactive since. The police, including the Officer in Charge (OCS) and Janai Investigation Department (DCI) officials, discovered her body with head injuries at the crime scene. Commissioner Koech assured the public that Mugera’s murder is an uncommon occurrence, and efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators for justice.
